The Client
About the Event
A celebration event for the town’s Christmas light switch on and continuing programme of Christmas themed events.

The Brief
We were asked by the Uppingham Town Partnership, which consists of council representatives, local businesses and volunteers, to create a unique entertainment solution for their Christmas lights switch-on.

Our Solution
We came up with the concept of using stilt-walkers in Christmas Tree costumes to provide mobile entertainment, accessible to all visitors. The costumed stilt-walkers wore hand-made dresses fashioned using layers of green fabric to create the effective Christmas tree shape. Decorations, lights and tinsel were applied to the costume to create the appearance of a walking Christmas Tree.
In addition, we provided costumed Mr & Mrs Claus and a light-up fairy stilt-walking characters. Also we supplied two talented actresses to play Disney Frozen Princesses, Anna and Elsa, in the festive performance showcase.
The Result
The entertainment choice proved a huge success, attracting attention from visitors of all ages. The glamorous stilt-walkers glided through the crowds and posed for photos with visitors – creating additional exposure for the event on Social Media.
